Leah King-Smith
In her earlier works, Leah King-Smith used multi-layering and a positive photographic process to imbue her large scale colour prints with glassy depth and richness. Her photo compositions from the celebrated Patterns of Connection series juxtaposed landscape images with historical photographs of Koori people sourced from the State Library of Victoria’s Picture collection. More recent works have explored scientific and natural metaphors, and continue to emphasise the layering of images for which the artist is so well known.
